Just me? Or do you also think the some of the newest vampires in today's media are making a complete mockery of the old horror genre?

Consider Vampire Nick Knight (pictured below, right) as the main character in Canada's TV series "Forever Knight." Does he not look much more like a clown than a vampire? And Why would a vampire's name, Nick Knight, remind us of grandma's nick knack collection? (There's no sophistication to any of it, I tell ya!)


Even worse is the remake movie of the old Dark Shadows soap opera where Johnny Depp plays Vampire Barnabas in a very slapstick way.
