La Llorona: Now on Amazon Prime, HBO, and Disney+!

Right now on Amazon Prime, you can learn a little about La Llorona, a fiend from 17th Century Mexico. In Grimm, season 2, episode 9, it's Halloween and when children in Portland, Oregon, are being found drowned in their costumes -- well, let's just say that many speculate that the weeping woman named La Llorona must be the culprit! To most, La Llorona is merely a folk tale. Yet to others? She is very real!

Sadly, the Grimm finds it difficult to believe that a ghost could be causing such premature deaths but he has a lot to learn!

Aghast From The Past!

Furthering La Llorona's fame is a new movie on HBO called "The Curse of La Llorena." Now showing. It features a Child Protective Service Case Worker whose husband had died so she brings their two young children to crime scenes with her. While the whole town is in an uproar, the deceased suffered at the hands of that crying ghost. Here's the trailer!

Singing About La Llorona

If the name La Llorona sounds familiar, perhaps you first met her in the Children's Dia de Los Muertos movie on Disney+ called "Coco." There she seems much less frightening.
