Daddy Shot Momma But A New "Momma" (2013) Is In The Woods

Mamma (2013) is a rather exciting supernatural horror flick that will make ya jump at least once. It's got all the mystery and creep factors ya'd expect with a little bit of psychology thrown in.

The story begins when two extremely helpless little girls are abandoned in the deep snow-covered woods. Fortunately a creepy and vengeful spirit takes pity on them and teaches them to eat bugs and cherries to survive. The sisters don't get rescued until five years later and it's understandable that they'd have a difficult time adjusting to modern civilization when their supernatural "mother" follows them into their new home.

I really liked the character development in this film. The acting was superb with horrid villains you love to hate and main characters you really grow to love. Expected violence involves the spirit killing those she feels jealous of but other than that there's not too much blood, sex or gore. (Sex is strongly implied but not overly done.)

Young Jessica Chastain plays Annabel, a hot rock star who steps in to care for the girls because she's dating their delicious uncle.

Danish Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays Lucas, the loving uncle who searches relentlessly for the little girls while they're missing. He's very hot on screen and you can easily believe why Annabel would give up her career to follow him around.

Megan Carpentier plays the older of the two little girls, Victoria.

Isabelle NĂ©lisse plays the baby Lily- later a 5-year-old who crawls around crab-like and finds eating moths to be her favorite delicacy.

The ending has an unexpected twist where you're not sure what's going to happen and things may or may not end as you expect.
