This oughta get your horror-induced adrenaline going. "The Vampire 5K" charity run happens under April's full "Pink Moon," in five cities. ...... Dallas, Denver, LA, DC and Atlanta. (That's April 26th, 2013, for those of you who don't subscribe to the Old Farmer's Almanac)
Registrants can run as Vampires (wearing all-black) or Citizens (in all-white). Both start in different locations. Yet at some un-announced point, the two paths for light and dark runners merge. That's when the hunt really heats up and all the blood thirsty howls and human screams begin!
Vampires will attempt "convert" citizens by stealing their white garlic flags while all participants run through fog, red powder and other mysteriously decorated zones.
During the after-party, runners can “celebrate eternity” with music, red beverages, fun awards, and make-up artists on-hand who are willing to “transform” any white-wearing citizens into new Vampires.
Proceeds will benefit The Red Cross blood donation services and local blood banks. Participants must be 18 or older.
*INCENTIVES are available for those who want to recruit their friends and run as part of a team (or lair)*

My daughter is getting a group together for the Dallas run. Should be a great time.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! To think of Texas vampires, I mean. :-D
ReplyDeleteWe're about to find out if everything is bigger in Texas Fang, not slang. I know poor attempt, but still, it should be a cool event for all. Trying to get a booth.
